Tuition Liability Acknowledgement
& Formal Appeal

A formal, documented process for families subject to review under the Early Termination & Tuition Liability section of the Silicon Valley Academy Parent Handbook, administered by the Board of Directors.

Access to this portal is by invitation only. If you have received a communication from the school containing a secure link, please open the portal from that link. The link is unique to your family's record.

Process Overview

  1. Policy Acknowledgement. The relevant section of the Parent Handbook is presented in full. The family confirms, by typed signature under California's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, that the policy has been read and understood. The acknowledgement does not waive the family's right to submit a formal written appeal under §4 of the policy.
  2. Formal Written Appeal. Upon completion of the acknowledgement, the family is presented with the appeal form. The form captures the timeline of the change in circumstances, the nature of the hardship, the specific relief requested, any supporting documentation, and a sworn statement executed under penalty of perjury pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure §2015.5.
  3. Board Review and Determination. The Board of Directors reviews each appeal on its individual merits in accordance with §4 of the policy. Modifications to the financial obligation are granted solely at the Board's discretion. The family will receive a written determination from the Board.
